The TK Box

$5,000.00

The TK Box was designed to meet a specific set of machinery rescue skills that replicate real world conditions and problems that exist in the rescue of people from machinery. This prop has the ability to perform a multitude of various machinery rescue scenarios including metal cutting, lifting and spreading, and disassembly. The tight quarters in which you must perform the various methods of extrication make the prop challenging for even the most seasoned rescuers.

Our instructors that we have to teach how to use our props are not only all seasoned firefighters but they are all also ironworkers, welders, machinists, blacksmiths, heavy machinery mechanics, etc. This has made the evolution of the TK Box into the heirloom quality training prop that it is today.

The props name is one that is near and dear to all our hearts at RSI. The prop is named after legendary rescuer Thomas Kenney of the Hyannis Fire Department in Massachusetts and MATF1. Tom was larger than life! A true brother and mentor who dedicated his life to making the firefighters around him better. After 36 years of a storied career in the fire service, Tom passed away from 9/11 cancer. I had the opportunity to teach with Tom and his passion for rescue work and metal cutting were passed along to me. The TK Box is a tribute to keep Tom’s memory alive and to remind people that it is “Ok to Love the Job”.
